We're pleased to welcome Sydney Sawyer, NP, to the Care2Talk Health team. Sydney brings a rich blend of oncology and family medicine experience, currently practicing as an Oncology Nurse Practitioner at BC Cancer while also providing episodic care at Colwood Family Medicine Clinic. Her background spans reproductive health, urgent care, and cancer care, backed by a strong record of clinical research and conference presentations. We're excited to have her expertise supporting our patients.
Education: Master of Science in Nursing (Family Nurse Practitioner) from Samuel Merritt University (2023–2024); BSN from Samuel Merritt (Magna Cum Laude, 2022); BS from UCSD (Cum Laude, 2016)
Current roles:
Oncology Nurse Practitioner at BC Cancer (since April 2025) — providing comprehensive care across the full disease trajectory for patients with gynecologic cancers, including diagnosis, active treatment, and palliative care
Nurse Practitioner, Episodic Care at Colwood Family Medicine Clinic (since Feb 2026) — high-volume walk-in care spanning acute infections, minor injuries, dermatologic and chronic disease management
Prior experience: Several years in reproductive health with Planned Parenthood (Northern California), including care coordination, lab result management, and hands-on clinical procedures (ultrasounds, IV starts, sedation support)
Academic contributions: Co-authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations on topics spanning telemedicine, substance use disorder screening, reproductive health counseling, and surgical outcomes research
Certifications: ACLS, BLS
